Overview

Welcome to our English Language class. Our curriculum is designed to align with the Ghana Education Service (NaCCA) New Curricula requirements, ensuring that our students develop strong language skills and proficiency in English. Our English Language class prioritizes the four main language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Through engaging and interactive activities, our students are given ample opportunities to practice and enhance their abilities in each of these areas.

Listening: Our curriculum incorporates activities that improve students' listening comprehension. Students will learn to understand spoken English through various exercises, such as listening to audio recordings, watching videos, and participating in class discussions. By developing their listening skills, students become more confident in understanding different accents and contexts.

Speaking: Effective communication is crucial, and our curriculum strongly emphasizes developing students' speaking skills. Students learn to express themselves fluently, clearly, and confidently through group discussions, presentations, role-plays, and debates. They are encouraged to engage in conversations on a wide range of topics, enabling them to develop their critical thinking and analytical skills.

Reading: Our English Language class also focuses on improving students' reading comprehension. Students are exposed to diverse literary genres, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and plays. They learn how to analyze and interpret texts, identify main ideas, make inferences, and draw conclusions. We encourage students to develop a love for reading and provide them with various reading materials to foster a lifelong habit of reading independently.

Writing: Developing strong writing skills is essential for effective communication. Our curriculum guides students through the process of planning, drafting, editing, and revising their written work. They learn various types of writing, such as narratives, descriptive essays, persuasive essays, and letters. Our teachers provide constructive feedback to help students improve their writing style, grammar, vocabulary, and organization.
